Man Charged in Fatal Warren County Shooting

A Warren County man was arrested for murder on Saturday, by investigators with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. The arrest came shortly after a fatal shooting occurred at a residence at 119 Carter Lane in Warrenton. The shooting occurred sometime after 1:00 a.m., on Saturday.


Brandon Tyrell Perry, aka “Paco,” 25, of Henderson was charged with one count of second degree murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

An altercation preceded the shooting and Jimmie Reed Watson, 58, of Norlina died at the scene. Christopher Demore Holden, 40, of Henderson was transported to Maria Parham Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Perry appeared before a magistrate before being taken into custody at the Warren County jail.

The joint investigation with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and State Bureau of Investigation is still ongoing.

The Warren County District Attorney’s Office was consulted before the warrants were sought for Perry’s arrest.
