SBI Arrests Union County Murder Suspect


North Carolina special agents with the State Bureau of Investigation today arrested a murder suspect in connection with the death of a Monroe man whose body was found in a wooded area in Stallings July 24.

Keith Edward McCarthy, 41, of Monroe, is charged with first degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and concealing the death of Jaime Toledano Hernandez, 41, of Monroe. McCarthy was transported to the Union County jail.

In addition to the SBI, the Stallings Police Department, the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe Police Department participated in the murder investigation.
