RALEIGH -- Illegally accessing the Wake County Register of Deeds work email account landed a former county employee in jail today.

Nilesh Kumar R. Tailor, 39, Apex, a former system administrator in the Register of Deeds office, was arrested by the State Bureau of Investigation this afternoon on 13 counts of accessing government computers. He worked for Laura Riddick for almost four years before he was fired from that job on November 3.

Tailor is accused of accessing  Riddick’s work emails more than 600 times between October, 2013 and October, 2014. He allegedly continued to receive Riddick’s emails after learning of an SBI investigation.

Tailor turned himself in at the Wake County Jail where he was held under a $5,000 secured bond. A court date is set for December 8.
