SBI INVESTIGATING INCIDENT AT TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY DETENTION CENTER
Raleigh, NC - On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was requested by the Transylvania County Sheriff to investigate an allegation of assault involving an inmate and nurse who worked at the Transylvania County Detention Center. On February 9th, James Hensley (DOB 3/1/88) was charged with assault by strangulation and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. The nurse was treated and released from the hospital. The investigation remains ongoing. No additional information is available.
