RALEIGH -- Seventeen-year-old Cortaz Quemel Lucas Jr. is sought in three states for the murder of a Clayton man last December, according to the State Bureau of Investigation. Lucas is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Lucas is accused of shooting and killing Robert Horton, 28, in his Clayton home on Dec. 28. Lucas, who has lived at several addresses in Johnston County and most recently at 114 Dennis Way in Clayton, knew Horton. Law enforcement believes a domestic dispute between them preceded the shooting.

Lucas could have left North Carolina and may be hiding in New York City or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is working with local law enforcement in all three states attempting to find him.

A state warrant for murder and a federal warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution have been issued for Lucas. Lucas has a juvenile record and was wanted on a probation violation at the time of the shooting, the SBI says.

The Clayton Police Department, the FBI and the SBI are involved in this investigation.
