Case Description: On Monday, August 3, 2009 at approximately 7:30 pm, a neighbor's 911 call brought sheriff deputies to a home at 218 Pamlico Road near Oriental. The homeowner, Linda Lee Jackson, was found dead in her bedroom. Her body had been burned. She was 54 years-old and was last seen alive a few days prior to the discovery of her body.
Known by her friends as Lee, she lived alone having lost her companion several years ago. Ms. Jackson enjoyed sailing, being at the ocean, and her loving family. She touched the lives of everyone she met.
The Pamlico County Sheriff's Office requested SBI investigative assistance which included a crime scene search and interviews of several subjects of interest.
