On  Friday evening, August 26, 2005 at approximately 9:50 pm, the deceased body of Ronald Dean Locklear was found on the kitchen floor of his single-wide mobile home located at 912 Wesley Road in Rowland in Robeson County.  He lived alone and was last seen by relatives earlier that Friday.  Mr. Locklear was 31 years old at the time of his murder.  His death was the result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Physical evidence was collected from the scene and extensive interviews were conducted.  Mr. Locklear may have known his assailant(s).  Although several strong leads developed possible suspects, more information is still needed to make an arrest.  Investigators believe someone in the public domain has knowledge of Mr. Locklear's murder or is an associate of the assailant(s) but may be afraid to come forward.
