Criminal Apprehension Team
The SBI’s Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) assists local, state, and federal agencies in locating and apprehending violent criminal offenders, lends assistance in locating missing or endangered persons, and provides specialized technical investigative assistance in major cases and critical incidents.  CAT agents are considered subject matter experts at locating people using industry best practices. 

Technical Services
The SBI’s Technical Services Unit (TSU) assists local, state, and federal agencies in the deployment and lawful use of highly specialized technical equipment to support ongoing criminal investigations.  Members of TSU have received world-class training in secure law enforcement communications, electronic surveillance, and extraction of digital evidence.
