Columbus County Man Arrested by NCICAC Task Force, Charged with Sexually Exploiting Minor in Another State
 
 
(Raleigh, NC) – On March 1, 2024, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s (SBI) Computer Crimes Unit, which leads the NC Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force, received information via a CyberTip about a suspect involved in the sextortion of a minor who lived in Pennsylvania. Through further investigation, and in coordination with the Pennsylvania ICAC, Landon Adam Powell, 25, of Columbus County in NC was identified. On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Powell was charged with 10 counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor. After going before a magistrate at the Columbus County Detention Center, Powell was issued a $15,000 bond.
