MOCKSVILLE – A Davie County woman was arrested yesterday by agents from the State Bureau of Investigation’s Diversion and Environmental Crimes Unit.
Annie Hunter Benson, 71, of Mocksville was arrested and charged with six counts of Trafficking Opiates and two counts of Maintaining a Dwelling to Keep a Controlled Substance. Each of these charges represents a felony that will be prosecuted by the Davie County District Attorney’s office.
Benson’s arrest was the result of a two month long investigation stemming from allegations that Benson was selling her prescribed Oxycodone pills from her Mocksville residence on Milling Road.
Benson was booked into the Davie County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond. Benson is scheduled to appear in court for these charges on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
The Mocksville Police Department and Davie County Sheriff’s Office assisted the SBI.
