(PITT COUNTY, NC) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) requested assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) concerning a child pornography case in eastern North Carolina. The SBI assisted the FBI in serving a search warrant at a home in Pitt County this afternoon. As a result, 57-year-old Blace Nalavany of 704 Stillwater Dr, Winterville, NC, has been arrested and charged with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.  Dr. Blace Nalavany has been an Associate Professor of Social Work at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, NC, since 2006.

Dr. Nalavany was transported to the Pitt County jail for processing. He was held on a $750,000 bond.  No further information is available at this time.
