The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is conducting an investigation into an officer-involved shooting at the request of the Harnett County Sheriff's Office. The incident occurred around 2 PM at a residence on Neills Creek Road in Lillington. Deputies were responding to a 911 call for assistance when a confrontation ensued, resulting in one deputy discharging his weapon. The individual who was shot was transported to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.  No information on the person’s condition is available.

The SBI will conclude its investigation and present the findings to the Harnett County District Attorney. No further details are available at this time.
