Inmate Charged with Death of Fellow Inmate
(Raleigh, NC) – On January 20, 2024, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) received a request from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death of an inmate at the Lenoir County Detention Center. Stephanie Osowski, 40, was found deceased in her cell. Preliminary autopsy results are consistent with an overdose.
 
After consultation with the district attorney, on January 25, 2024, Kristen Nicole Graham, 29, another inmate at the Lenoir County Detention Center, was charged with death by distribution. After going before a magistrate, Graham was issued a $250,000 secured bond. Graham’s mug shot from the Lenoir County Detention Center is attached. No additional information is available at this time.
