Johnston County Man Arrested by the North Carolina Internet Crimes

Against Children Task Force

 

Raleigh, NC – On Friday, February 26, 2021, Special Agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s (SBI) Computer Crimes Unit arrested a Johnston County man on charges of manufacturing child pornography and committing sex offenses against minor children.  This investigation was initiated after a cybertip report was sent to the SBI by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  This joint investigation was conducted by the SBI, the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office through their participation in the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Jason Thomas Galant, 33, was arrested at his home in southern Johnston County and charged with seven counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of committing a sex offense against a child under the age of 13.  Galant is currently being held at the Johnston County Jail under a $3,050,000.00 secured bond.
