Media are welcome at noon to photograph or video the delivery of unused, unwanted or expired drugs to the State Bureau of Investigation’s SBI Diversion and Environmental Crimes Unit at 1705 East Tryon Road, Raleigh (same location as address above).
SBI agents from eight field offices will be delivering pills to Raleigh that were collected statewide by law enforcement agencies participating in Operation Medicine Drop. Raleigh-area law enforcement agencies will deliver medications directly to the Tryon Road location.
Operation Medicine Drop provides residents a safe way of disposing their unneeded medications by dropping them off at their local law enforcement agency. This is an effort to keep drugs away from kids and people with addictions.
