NC SBI CAT locates missing teen

(FAYETTEVILLE, NC) - On 01/27/25, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) contacted the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) to assist in locating the whereabouts of a possible abducted teen from Aberdeen, NC. The 15-year-old female was last seen on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:30 p.m.

The Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) immediately began investigating and received information that the teen was believed to be in the company of an unknown older male.  The FBI provided information on two possible suspects based on information found in the teen's phone.  CAT agents obtained and analyzed the information and developed intelligence regarding a possible suspect. The information revealed that the abducted child may have been taken to the state of Michigan.  FBI agents in Michigan followed up on this information, and the suspect, 18-year-old Isaiah Steed, was apprehended. The teen was safely recovered within hours of CAT receiving the initial request for assistance.   No further information is available on possible criminal charges or any additional investigation details.
