(ROBERSONVILLE, NC) - On Saturday, 02/01/2025, Chief C. Garrett of the Robersonville Police Department (RPD) requested assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) regarding a shooting at 303 Mae Street, Apartment 22B, Robersonville, North Carolina. At approximately 4:25 pm, RPD, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Williamston Police Department responded to the location and found Rakyym Barnes (DOB: 07/20/1997) lying on the ground near the front porch of the apartment. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Barnes was transported to the ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina, in critical condition and underwent surgery.
This was the second shooting in Robersonville in two days. The SBI is investigating both shootings, and no further details are currently available.
