SBI AGENTS ARREST, CHARGE MOM IN DEATH OF INFANT SON

 

Raleigh, NC – Special Agents with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) have arrested a Claremont woman in connection to her infant son’s death.  On October 17, 2020, the Claremont Police Department requested SBI assistance with the investigation into the death of a 2-month-old after the infant was found unresponsive by his father.  On Tuesday, October 20, 2020, agents with the SBI’s Northwestern District arrested Aaliyah Nicole Mungro, 22.  She was charged with murder.  Mungro was booked at the Catawba County Detention Center after going before a magistrate where she was denied bond. 

 

The case is being handled by the Catawba County District Attorney’s office.  The SBI and Claremont Police Department continue to investigate.  No additional information is available at this time.  Mungro's mug shot can be obtained from the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.
