SBI Agents Investigating Officer Involved Shooting in Wilmington Involving New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office
Raleigh, NC – On Tuesday, November 16, 2021, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was requested by the New Hanover County Sheriff to investigate an officer involved shooting involving deputies with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO).  The individual who was shot has been identified as Henry Timberlake Duncan, 43 years old.  The NHCSO deputies who fired their weapons have been identified as J. Cranford, 35 years old and T. Spell, 30 years old.  Inquiries regarding how long the deputies have worked with the sheriff’s office will need to be directed to NHCSO.  The SBI’s investigation into the officer involved shooting remains ongoing.  No additional information is available at this time.
