RALEIGH -- A former Pitt County deputy and school resource officer is appearing in district court today to face sex offense charges, according to the State Bureau of Investigation.
The SBI arrested Justin Calvin Dickinson, 37, Monday for statutory sex offense, sexual offense with a student and indecent liberties with a minor. Dickinson was being held in the Greene County Jail under a $1,000,000 bond. Dickinson was a Pitt County Sheriff’s Office deputy for 16 years and a school resource officer at Farmville Central High School for the last five years.
Dickinson is alleged to have had a relationship with an underage student he met at the school which continued after the victim was separated from the school.
On March 9, Pitt County Sheriff Neil Elks requested that the SBI investigate Dickinson. The sheriff’s office reportedly received a complaint from a witness that Dickinson had an inappropriate relationship with a minor. The witness believed the minor was possibly a student or previous student.
