SBI Investigating OIS in Clayton, Releases Names
 
On June 10, 2024, the SBI was requested by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) and the District Attorney to investigate a fatal officer-involved shooting that happened in Clayton on the morning of June 10^th involving a JCSO deputy. The deceased has been identified as Jose Luis Rincon Lopez, 24. The deputy has been identified as Jonathan Lee, 32. Any questions regarding the deputy’s employment status should be directed to JCSO. The SBI investigation remains ongoing. No additional information is available at this time.
