Shallotte Double Fatal House Fire

This morning at 3:59 am, the Shallotte Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 125 Al St, Shallotte, NC. Upon arrival, firefighters found the house engulfed in flames and began working to battle the blaze. During their efforts, they discovered the remains of two individuals inside the home who had succumbed to the fire. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Shallotte Police Department, Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, and the Brunswick County Fire Marshal also responded to the incident. The Brunswick County Fire Marshal's Office has requested assistance from the North Carolina Bureau of Investigation (SBI) to process the scene. Investigators are currently collecting evidence and working to identify the source of the fire.

Both bodies have been transported to the North Carolina Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy and determination of the cause of death. No additional information is available at this time.
