(SILER CITY, NC) — The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was requested by the Siler City Police Department (SCPD) on July 22, 2025, to investigate allegations of obtaining property by false pretenses by an employee.

Gloria Maldonado, age 57, is a domestic violence advocate employed by the Siler City Police Department.  The position is intended to help victims of domestic violence navigate the judicial system. Maldonado is accused of defrauding the victims that she was supposed to be helping.

During the investigation, other victims have come forward and reported that Maldonado defrauded them as well. The SBI believes there are additional victims of these crimes. If you or someone you know has been working with Ms. Moldonado and has paid her to assist in any legal documentation, including U-Visas, please contact the SBI.
