RALEIGH -- The shooting of a man by a Raleigh police officer on Barrett Drive Wednesday is still under investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation.

Marcel Leroy Jordan, 33, who was shot during the incident, remains hospitalized at WakeMed.

Officer S.C. Nziuki is identified as the officer who discharged her weapon. Nziuki had responded Wednesday to an assault in progress on the second floor at 3824 Barrett Drive when an encounter occurred with Jordan and Jordan was shot in the torso.

Nziuki is assigned to the Raleigh Police Department’s field operation division where she has worked since May 21, 2012. She is currently on administrative leave from the police department.
