The Training Section is responsible for coordinating the in-residence Basic Law Enforcement Training for special agent trainees as mandated by the State Bureau of Investigation and the State of North Carolina Criminal Justice Education Training and Standards Commission. 

BLET is currently being provided by various approved community college programs. The trainees are assigned to the Training Section during this mandated training.  

The Training Section ensures that the trainee has all required equipment and materials necessary to complete BLET. The Training Section monitors and provides additional tutoring to trainees when necessary for successful completion of BLET.
